The WorkPlace is offering it’s nationally recognized Platform to Employment (P2E) program across the state of Connecticut.  The program, funded by the Connecticut Department of Labor, is designed specifically for the long-term unemployed who have exhausted their unemployment benefits.  It offers a five week preparatory program of coaching and professional development workshops designed to enhance confidence and improve employability. P2E helps job candidates find open positions at local companies and enables employers to have a risk free evaluation of talent during a trial where wages are subsidized by The WorkPlace.

The five-week preparatory program that helps participants confront barriers to employment through coaching, skills assessments, career readiness workshops and programs to rebuild confidence and focus. These participants will acquire new job search skills and will receive assistance in finding employment.

P2E’s success is unparalleled. Approximately 80% of graduates from preparatory program take the next step into a paid work experience with a local business. Of this population, nearly 90% have moved to employer payrolls. The success of Platform to Employment has led to replication in more than a dozen states across the country, including a state-wide initiative in Rhode Island.

Members of the press are welcome to attend and speak with participants.
