Encore Fairfield County 2017 Encore is a 16-week, workforce transition program for corporate professionals seeking to enter managerial and professional careers in the nonprofit sector. Encore is taking enrollments this month and the program starts November 1, 2017. It is designed to help corporate professionals tailor their skills to the nonprofit sector.
This is an opportunity for southern Connecticut residents to participate in an innovative, proven program that is helping people get back to work and enhancing the capacity of local non-profit organizations. This four-month program of deep immersion in the Fairfield County nonprofit sector – is designed to address two critical needs: reduce professional sector unemployment in Fairfield County and increase the capacity of local nonprofits. The curriculum includes sixty-plus hours of transition education in the areas of nonprofit leadership, development, accounting, governance and strategic management. The program is capped with a two-month fellowship applying the participants’ experience and skills to a challenging project while learning the work and culture of an area nonprofit.
