The WorkPlace seeks to request a transfer of funds received through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) from WIOA Dislocated Worker programming to WIOA Adult programming for the current fiscal year. The intent is to transfer $500,000.

The purpose of the WIOA Dislocated Worker program is to help dislocated workers become reemployed through job search assistance and/or training that builds their occupational skills to meet labor market needs.

The purpose of WIOA Adult programming is to prepare workers — particularly individuals with barriers to employment — for good jobs by providing job search assistance and training. The Adult Program provides an emphasis on serving public assistance recipients, other low-income individuals, and individuals who are low-skilled.

If you have questions or wish to comment on this transfer of funds, please contact Nestor Leon, VP of Operations, The WorkPlace by Monday June 3rd. He can be reached at (203) 610-8556 or at nleon@workplace.org
