TechLine - Solutions in Advanced Manufacturing

Techline is an innovative incumbent worker training program designed around the training and skill needs of a coalition of interrelated Advanced Manufacturers.  The future of manufacturing in the Southwestern Connecticut region is "advanced manufacturing" which employs a highly skilled workforce utilizing state of the art technology and high-precision equipment.  To ensure continued growth of this industry, employers require an educated workforce that remains current with evolving technology.

Impacts

1.  Provide training to more than 500 workers in Connecticut with over 2,000 training events;
2.  Create a model for high-skill, continuous improvement worker development to support business growth;
3.  Employee acquisition of technical skills that can advance employees on their career ladder;
4.  Provide training component that builds the advanced manufacturing workforce's capacity for innovation; and
5.  Illustrates potential of new Advanced Manufacturing sector to create high-skill, high-pay jobs in Connecticut.

Techline and Employers

Through contracted providers, Techline provides high-skill, continuous improvement and worker development to support business growth, and address the critical workforce areas of small business issues, matching training providers to business needs and training for innovation.
