What is School-to-Career?

School-to-Career or School-to-Work programs are partnerships with businesses and school systems or community organizations that provide students with opportunities to learn about the world of work, explore potential careers, and gain valuable work experience.  They provide businesses with opportunities to develop a well-prepared, skilled workforce from within the area school population.  These programs seek to make education more relevant and exciting to all students, including the college and non-college bound, and instill a commitment to lifelong learning.  They promote high academic standards and provide for a seamless transition from school to entering the workforce or post-secondary institution.
